-The aromatic or soapy barbershop scent is too strong (Maybe dihydromyrcenol)

    -Base scent is very good

-Thirsty soap but not a big deal

-Still trying to find the medium point of lather

-Very close and good shave and with good cushioning

    -Good postshave moisturizing

-Overall a very good soap and the best I’ve tried, among MdC, Barrister & Mann, Caties Bubbles, Strop Shoppe, and Tiki’s. I will buy more and waiting for more scents to come out, good job.

…The soap to which I was to hinge my daily elation on was none other than WhollyKaw’s Fougere Bouquet. I’ve been meaning to write a review of this for a long while, but with the combination of reviews that popped up, and my ability to completely forget about things it just didn’t happen. I think now is a great time and will serve as a good spring board into this journey….

…That said, I think I’m honest about what things can be improved upon and I try to look at everything objectively, as much as possible.
…We all know (or we all should know) how great they are. How tightly they compare to MdC, and how much care he puts into crafting them. Potentially long story short: if you haven’t tried WhollyKaw, you really should. Incredible lather, great slickness and cushion, and extremely carefully crafted scents. Post-face feel, especially if you don’t use a moisturizing aftershave, does leave a little bit to be desired. It’s not awful, it doesn’t try out, but it doesn’t leave the soft feeling that some soaps do.
Scent: Fougere Bouquet is without a question my favorite fougere that I’ve encountered. I’m not nearly as experienced as many of our fine resident frag-heads, but I have decent experience with a number of our artisan’s fougeres, and this one is the best in my opinion. It opens with a great, light citrus note that really gives it a “crisp” feel. It then transforms into what I described to /u/goodthingstolife [4] as a “airy, more natural” feeling, and he informed me that that was the herbaceous side of it, with roman chamomile and lavender. Compared to the likes of Topanga Fougere (which is a scent I’m also very fond of), it seems bright and fresh where LASSCo’s version is, to my nose, a bit more earthy while still maintaining a certain lightness to it.
Fougere Bouquet finishes with a very smooth, amber and mossy type scent that makes for a well rounded, soft completion that allows the bright citrus and herbs to still mingle.
Really awesome stuff, you should get it. Also, the packaging has changed to a much classier black with white lettering. Even though I never minded the original.

WhollyKaw’s Fougère Bouquet is not my first shave soap, but it is my first fougère. Honestly, I don’t really know what technically makes it such – I’d never heard the word before I started wet shaving – but I do know that it has one of the most extraordinary scents I’ve ever come across.

I’d say the website description for it is dead on. It’s fresh, it’s earthy, it’s light but lingers throughout the day. I tend to like more masculine scents but it isn’t just masculine; it’s complex and versatile and I think it would work for anybody. On a personal level, I find it incredibly warm and familiar and that’s what really puts it over the top for me.

Scent is pretty subjective but performance is much less so. WhollyKaw more than holds its own against all the other soaps I’ve tried. It lathers easily and my legs and underarms feel well protected during the shave and smooth after. I do follow up with a moisturizer, but that’s out of habit more than necessity, as well as a spritz of the matching aftershave splash (as a fragrance more than a post shave treatment) to keep the scent with me longer.

I’m still discovering new soaps, so I like to try a new one every time I shave, but I find myself reaching for Fougère Bouquet often. The fragrance is comforting and the lather is luxurious and I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. WhollyKaw has something special here – it’s easily at the top of my favorites list.

Well to start with, the fulfilment rate and the speed at which the product has arrived at my door step is quite impressive, no lag or delays. Let alone, a very simple and easy to navigate and order through homepage.

AS for the Fougere, the first time i opened the container, thought hmmm. sandalwoodish.. (not a sandalwood fan. yet i realised i was wrong).. and thought “ok of a scent.
Then i prepped, and lathered.. Oh Dear Lord..!… despite trying out quite a lot of soaps.. hi end or not.. artisan or not.. this is quite a treat!!!
The ease of lather.. very very easy to lather..
The cushion and slickness… pretty darn impressive be it using a straight or a double edge…
The post shave feel … is just well.. BEYOND impressive.. despite reading other reviews.. i tend to disagree.. the post shave feel is darn impressive and I haven’t dried my face yet!!..
A standard lather easily was enough for 4+ passes.. and still more lather!..

As for the scent.. I have left till end intentionally.. I was so wrong.. at every end of pass.. i would wash and wait to face lather.. the scent is unbelievable.. Yes, i can compare to other fougeres out there.. but I am quite impressed, and loved the scent..

Thank you Wholly Kaw for such a great product, seems my next product is the Lav sublime based on the samples i received!.. can’t wait..

Yes.. a much much much recommended product…

    So So good

I picked up this soap because I initially loved the rebranding effort, and also because of the reviews of others. I bloomed the soap for my first shave(not needed by the way), and upon lathering, I got this amazing melted marshmallow goodness that was the slickest, thickest, and most bubble free lather I’ve ever had. Everyone needs to try this soap at least once. Post shave was moisturizers, and residual slickness was enough to do a 2/3 pass with ease. Cannot recommend this soap highly enough. It’s a top 3 all time soap for me.

I previously owned this soap in the Vegan version and recently bought it again in the tallow version. Wholly Kaw’s tallow soaps are fantastic. This soap has great cushion and glide, In addition, it has a great post-shave face feel! This is one of the best Fougere soaps on the market today!

I’ve had this soap probably 5 years and it’s still in in my top 5. LOVE, love, love the scent. The tonka and everything else take me back a long time. I also have the new soaps and love them but this is reached for more. The performance still holds it’s own against anything out there.
