Shave of the Day — FAQ

What is a Shave of the Day (SOTD)?

A Shave of the Day (SOTD) is the set of products a wet-shaver uses for one shave — the lather (a shaving soap or cream), the brush, the razor and blade, and the post-shave (an aftershave splash or balm), often finished with a fragrance. Shavers share their SOTD to track what they use and how it went.

How do you build a wet-shaving loadout?

Pick a lather (soap or cream), a brush to build it, a razor paired with a double-edge blade, and a post-shave (splash or balm). Many add a pre-shave and a fragrance. Pairing products that go together — like a soap and a matching aftershave in the same scent — keeps the routine cohesive. Tap Generate above for a realistic starting loadout, then lock what you like and re-roll the rest.

How many shaves does a razor blade last?

It varies by blade and beard, but most double-edge blades give about three to seven comfortable shaves before they start to tug. Tap the die on the Blade slot to log each blade's use count, and change it once it loses its edge.

What do BBS, DFS and CCS mean?

They grade how close the shave was: CCS = Close, Comfortable Shave; DFS = Damn Fine Shave; BBS = Baby-Butt Smooth (the smoothest). Tag each shave so your dashboard can chart how your results trend over time.
